What you'll need
Most people expect a mountain of paperwork. To get started and see real options, I need three documents. For a lot of established businesses, that's all I ever need.
Pick your situation
Most of what I do
Whether you trade as a sole trader or through a company, the starting list is identical. Three things.
A photo of the front and a photo of the back, uploaded through the secure link I send you. Clear enough to read, all four corners in shot.
One photo, same secure link. Readable, whole card in frame.
Comes through in the same request. You sign it electronically on your phone, and it takes about a minute.
Trust structures
Same three things as everyone else, plus one document specific to the trust. This is the one that holds deals up, so it is worth digging it out early.

Certified, not a phone photo of the original. Your accountant or solicitor usually has one, and a JP, solicitor or accountant can certify a copy if you only have the original.
No ABN
If you are employed rather than running a business, the starting list is the same three things plus a few extras.

Lenders ask employees for a couple of things on top of the three above, and exactly what depends on the lender and the deal. Rather than list something here that turns out to be wrong, give me a call and I'll tell you precisely what you need for your situation. It's a short list.
Call 0461 541 612Two things worth knowing
Plenty of people get pre-approved first and go shopping afterwards. Knowing your number before you walk onto a lot is a much stronger position to negotiate from than working it out at the desk. Bring me the asset details whenever you have them.
If you've held your ABN and been GST registered for more than two years, those three documents are typically everything I need. No financials, no tax returns, no bank statements. Newer businesses sometimes need a bit more, and I'll tell you exactly what once I've seen the deal.
After you send them
Only once you've signed the privacy agreement and told me to go ahead. Nothing happens to your credit file before that.
Real lenders, real rates, real repayments. Not a range, the actual numbers for your situation.
Depending on the lender and the deal, there may be another document or two. If so I'll tell you what and why, all in one go, not a fortnight of dribs and drabs.
A driver licence and a Medicare card together are enough for someone to do real damage, and email is not a safe place to put them. So we don't use it.
When we speak I'll send you a secure request through the broker platform my licensee provides. Everything goes through that one link, both the photos and the privacy agreement to sign, and it's stored on their system rather than sitting in an inbox.
If anything ever arrives claiming to be from me and asks you to email documents instead, it isn't me. Call me on 0461 541 612 and check.
